Group size: trips are run exclusively for each party, be that a single intrepid guest or a group.
Cost: $1,850 per person for a group of four; $2,150 for a solo trip for one person.
Timing: 04:30 – 17:00 or overnight

Hiking into the volcanic mountains in search of the world’s only remaining mountain gorillas is an extraordinary experience.
Setting out early from Kigali, you’ll drive the two and a half hours north, ascending into the highlands as you head for Volcanoes National Park HQ. Assigned an experienced team of trackers and guides, you’ll walk into the Virungas to find one of the twelve gorilla families that inhabit the Rwandan side of the reserve.
Upon your return, you’ll have a chance to share your experience over lunch at a mountain lodge before heading back to Kigali.
