Safari in Akagera

What's included?

Park entry, guides, transportation, accommodation, breakfast, water, medevac insurance.

Private Trip

Cost: from $1,847 per person based on two people sharing. Accommodation based on a night at Ruzizi Tented Lodge and a night at Karenge Bushcamp: two of our favorites.

The only rolling savannah habitat in Rwanda, Akagera National Park is a short drive to the eastern border with Tanzania.

Having taken in the highlights of the capital, head out in search of hippos in the southern wetlands of Lake Ihema. A full day’s game drive is a chance to spot the Big Five, herds of antelope, giraffes and spectacular birdlife.

After a second night in the reserve, it’s time to drive north through the Park in search of the big cats, which are drawn to the game on the vast, open grasslands located in the Northern plains. We’ll return to Kigali by sunset or head directly to the airport for those flying out.
